Teacher ProfileIn our endeavour to provide first class music education, we have assembled a team of highly committed and outstanding teachers. Here are some of our teachers qualifications and teaching experience: Niena Puang (Piano teacher)Mrs Niena has taught for the last 19 years to children as young as 4 years old right up to students taking Diploma, many of whom have become music teachers. Mrs. Niena was the first batch of graduate from the Boston University (Singapore Campus) where she sat under Professor John Sharpley (Former resident composer for the Singapore Symphony Orchestra). She has also taught in major schools like Yamaha and Kawai and carries with her a wealth of teaching experience. Jaclyn Scott (Piano teacher)Jaclyn hails from South Africa with a Bachelor Degree of Music. She also possesses a Teacher Licentiate. Jaclyn brings with her 8 years of teaching experience. Although the piano is her main instrument, Jaclyn is a multi-talented musician who also plays the oboe and cello. She has also been active as a singer in various choirs, both professional and amateur. Mrs. Scott is known to her students as a patient and highly motivational teacher. Zhao Xiao Dan (Piano and oboe teacher)Zhao Xiao Dan is an accomplished Pianist and Oboist who has performed on various occasions as a freelance for the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and other Orchestras around the region. Mr. Zhao graduated from the Yong Siew Toh NUS Conservatory of Music with a Bachelor Degree of Music under a full scholarship majoring in Piano and Oboe. Previously, Mr. Zhao had also studied master classes in Vienna Conservatory of Music (2003-2004) and Performance Diploma in Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts under full scholarships. Douglas Scott (Flute and vocal teacher)Douglas is an accomplished flautist who has performed as a soloist in concerto festivals with the National Symphony Orchestra (South Africa) and the Johannesburg Symphony Orchestra. He is currently completing Masters of Musicology Degree, specializing in Performance Practice (Flute). Douglas was also a professional singer (as a baritone), both as a soloist as well as part of vocal ensembles like the South African Chamber choir. He won the prize for best male vocalist at the Lorraine du Toit vocal academy in 2006. He also won the Second Prize at the Unisa International vocal competition (Ensemble Category) in 2006. Douglas carries with him 8 years of teaching experience in flute and vocal. Chen Khin Wee (piano and violin teacher)Khin Wee possesses a Bachelor Degree of Church Music from the Singapore Bible College and a double Licentiate Teacher Pianoforte from the Guildhall School of Music (LGSM) and Trinity College of London (LTCL).
